WHO WE ARE:
The Minnesota Cloud Dancers is an aerobatic flying club that was
originally formed in 1978, hence the "78" chapter number. Our chapter is
composed of about 50 members, primarily from Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.
The members of the Minnesota
Cloud Dancers aerobatic flying club are people with a common interest in
aviation and a special love for the challenging and exhilarating sport of
aerobatic flying. Our club is part of the
International Aerobatics Club, a
division of the Experimental Aircraft Association
OUR PRINCIPLES AND CLUB
OBJECTIVES:
-
Our number one goal
is to promote safer
flying skills through aerobatic flight.
The Douglas Yost Aerobatic Scholarship
is presented
yearly by IAC Chapter 78 from an endowment established in memory of Douglas
Yost by the Yost family. The purpose of this merit scholarship grant is to promote air
safety through aerobatics training. Each recipient of this scholarship will
receive a complete course of aerobatics and stall-spin awareness training of
approximately ten flight hours.
-
Goal Number Two.
Hosting Aerobatic Flying
Competition. The
Doug Yost Challenge is held each year in
August at Cumberland, Wisconsin. The contest draws competition pilots from all over the Midwest and across the
nation. This is a unique opportunity to see our aerobatic competition
pilots and planes.
