Aerobatic Contest Checklist

Prior to the contest

  • Check parachute will be current
  • Check insurance paperwork to ensure aircraft has proper liability coverage and is current
  • Check aircraft will be in annual
  • Check that your medical certificate will be current
  • Check that aircraft has functioning radio
  • Check that your free programs are in compliance with current rules, approved, and signed.
  • Make hotel and car rental reservations
  • Call or email the Contest Director for any special instructions

Take to the contest

  • IAC Official Contest Entry Form (if not already submitted online or mailed)
  • Personal documents
  • Pilot & Medical certificates
  • IAC & EAA membership cards
  • Airframe & Engine logs or copies of pages with current annuals
  • Airworthiness Certificate
  • Registration
  • Operating Limitations
  • Weight & Balance documents for your particular aircraft
  • Proof of Insurance with sufficient liability coverage
  • Parachute with pack card
  • Copies of freestyle forms A, B, C (you need one copy minimum) (take 10 A's, 15 B's, and 15 C's.- note the numbers vary at different contests - better to make more copies than required
  • Bring checkbook for payment of entry fee and hangar (if not previously paid)
  • Tool kit along with oil filler spout and fuel filler hose for Pitts types
  • Sun Screen
