"Muscle Bi-Planes"Muscle Bi-Plane is a term used to describe aircraft that have been given a boost in power by changing out the normal 4 cylinder Lycoming 0-360 engines typically rated at 180 to 200 HP and installing a modified 6 cylinder Lycoming 0-540 engine. These modified engines can produce up to 350 HP. Along with the change of engine, a 3-bladed prop is used and the airframe is strengthened tohandle the additional horsepower. The modified Eagle and Pitts Bi-Planes offer incredible performance.
